  • Colorectal Cancer Awareness

Among cancers that affect both men and women, colorectal cancer (cancer of the colon or rectum) is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Colorectal cancer screening saves lives.

Colorectal cancer screening helps find precancerous polyps so they can be removed before they turn into cancer. Screening tests also can find colorectal cancer early, when treatment often leads to a cure.

The U.S. Preventive Task Force recommends these tests to screen for colorectal cancer:

    • Colonoscopy
    • Fecal Occult Blood Test
    • Sigmoidoscopy

cviethFamily Practice physician, Dr. Chad Vieth, has extensive experience and training in colonoscopy/sigmoidoscopy procedures and the clinic’s CLIA certified laboratory offers fecal occult blood tests.

Please talk with your physician about which colorectal screening test(s) are best for you.
