Medicare Wellness Visits

Family Practice offers wellness visits for Medicare patients. Patients have the opportunity to have a “Welcome to Medicare” preventive visit during the first 12 months on Medicare Part B. This initial visit includes a review of your medical and social history, education and counseling about preventive services, including certain screenings, shots, and referrals for other preventive care.

The Welcome to Medicare visit is covered by Medicare. When making your appointment, let the office know you are scheduling your “Welcome to Medicare” preventive visit. If the provider chooses to order additional tests or services during this visit, there may be additional charges.

After the Welcome to Medicare visit is completed your first year on Medicare Part B, you are then eligible for an Annual Wellness Visit every 12 months. At these visits, you will update your care plan created with your provider at your first visit.
